Meditation what is it really?
Most people think of meditation is sitting with a blank mind but is it really?
This class will discuss and practice the different types of meditation and why you should start with concentration training first.
In order to gain control of the mind and be able to sit quietly, one must first practice mindful training sometimes referred to “Taming the Tiger” or “Repulsing the Monkey” and also must condition their physical body.
You will experience actual meditation practice and learn a powerful stretch set (Medical Qigong Theory) based on opening the joints and improving circulation so you can sit for longer periods of time comfortably.
Meditation refers to any of a family of practices in which the practitioner trains his or her mind or self-induces a mode of consciousness in order to realize some benefit. The term can refer to the state itself, as well as to practices or techniques employed to cultivate the state. There are dozens or more specific styles of meditation practice. People may mean different things when they use the word, ‘meditation’.
Qigong is the art and science of developing internal energy particularly for health and vitality, mind expansion and spiritual cultivation. Qigong uses body movements, rhythmic breathing, visualizations and healing sounds.
